Accessibility Statement

Last updated: 15 July, 2025

At Percy’s Adventures (https://www.percysadventures.com/), we are committed to making our website accessible and easy to use for everyone, including people with disabilities. We aim for inclusive access, ensuring all visitors can enjoy our children’s books and services.

What is web accessibility?

Web accessibility ensures that all visitors—regardless of ability—have an equal opportunity to engage with content, navigate our site, and make purchases. This includes:

  • Perceivable content (e.g., clear text, alt text for images, captions)

  • Operable functionality (e.g., keyboard navigation, visible focus indicators)

  • Understandable structure (e.g., clear headings, simple language)

  • Robust compatibility (e.g., correct HTML and ARIA tags)

Our accessibility efforts

We have taken the following steps in line with WCAG 2.1 Level AA:

  • Used the Accessibility Wizard to identify and fix issues such as colour contrast, heading structure, alt text, and focus indicators

  • Set the site language to ensure clarity for screen readers

  • Provided alternative text for meaningful images

  • Ensured sufficient colour contrast ratios (minimum 4.5:1 for normal text)

  • Enabled keyboard operability, including a smart visual focus ring

  • Organised DOM order logically to support screen readers

  • Included ‘Skip to main content’ links for keyboard users

  • Where used, made audio and video content accessible through captions and transcripts

Please note: Some third-party tools or embedded elements may not fully meet accessibility standards. We’re working to improve these areas.

Conformance status

Our site strives to reach WCAG 2.1 Level AA conformance. While we follow recognised standards, full legal compliance—including adherence to the UK’s Equality Act 2010—is an ongoing process.

Feedback and assistance

We welcome your feedback. If you encounter any accessibility issues or need assistance, please contact us:

We will respond as soon as possible and aim to resolve any issues promptly—usually within [5–10 business days].

Ongoing improvement

We continually review our site’s accessibility. We use automated tools and manual checks, and may also engage external auditors to help us improve and maintain inclusive access.
